About

Dr. Hosein Rahnema received a Ph.D. in Geotechnics, from Civil Engineering Department of Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran, in 2002 . His research field was on unsaturated soil. He began his career as a lecturer at Yasuj University in 2001, and then he went Shiraz University of Technology in 2005 and lunched Earthquake Engineering at Civil & Environmental Engineering Department. He is currently the director of civil projects of the university.  He started teaching and research on Geotechnical Earthquake field and soil structure interaction over there .  He currently teaches seismic hazard and soil structure interaction to graduate students.  His teaching interests are in the areas of Geotechnical Earthquake. He has written and published research on the topics of earthquake prediction, deep excavations in urban areas, lifeline vulnerability assessment, seismic risk and hazard analysis, soil structure interaction and wave propagation.
